In the first year, pupils will begin their Digital Media course by learning about storyboards. We will aim to develop an understanding of the components of a storyboard and how they are used to communicate meaning. They will then be assessed on their own storyboard, which they have created for a specified media product.
The second unit is Designing an Interactive Presentation. Students will develop the skills needed to create a presentation. They will learn how to select and use information to develop content, and how to use images, sound and video clips in a presentation. They will then be assessed on a project in which they create their own interactive presentation and present it to others.
In year two, the final unit will be Producing an Advert. Students will develop the skills and techniques involved in creating adverts. They will explore the roles involved with a production and the planning needed. For their final assessment, students will then work with others to plan and create an advert in an area of media production.
