Pupils will:

• Talk about their strengths to others
• Say what they like and enjoy doing
• Say what LMI is and how it helps make future decisions
• Look at local job vacancies using apps, websites and newspapers
• Explain what the term “Career” means to them
• Recognise the skills and qualities needed for the world of work
• Create a visual diagram of personal networks and support
• Record and maintain a careers action plan including setting and reviewing targets
• Identify the health and safety risks to themselves and others as they move around the school
• Select relevant careers information and say which ones interest them

• Keep a skills log showing the skills and qualities needed for employability and independent living
• Identify opportunities for developing skills and qualities inside and outside school
• Take part in employer led activities
• Understand the qualities needed to be an entrepreneur
• Record and maintain a careers action plan including setting and reviewing targets
• Identify how to stand up to stereotyping and discrimination
• Identify the different kinds of work people do and say why job satisfaction changes through life

Pupils will:

• Prepare and present themselves well when going through a selection process for roles in school
• Research skills and qualifications needed for their futures.

• Prepare for their move into KS4 by reviewing targets and careers action plan
• Show how they can use a personal budget, understand and use financial words

Pupils will:

• Describe what they like about how they have changed since Year 7
• Discuss their personal story so far and how they are building on their strengths and interests
• Keep and maintain a careers action plan reflecting on what they have learned
• Set personal targets building on strengths rather than focus on weaknesses
• Evidence how they apply and develop essential skills through work related activities
• Record evidence of use of key employability skills
• Identify questions about equal opportunities that cannot be asked at interview
• Complete a 2 or 3 application forms that show evidence of skills and qualities
• List the main sections of a CV and the do’s and dont’s of completing one
• Say what they need from an induction programme for a sixth form, a college or an apprenticeship
• Research the opportunities for volunteering in the local area
• Follow health and safety guidelines on a work experience placement
• Reflect on what organisational structure would appeal most to them and why
